All are required to purchase the studio base uniform which consists of a leotard in designated colour as listed and “ballerina pink” tights.
Depending on discipline, certain levels of dancing are allowed to add shorts, shirts and skirts to their uniform but all must be purchased through the studio. Some extra tights may be required for performances.

Warm ups approved to be used can consist of a wrap sweater (pink), warm up pants, leg warmers, but must be purchased through the studio.Studio colours are black and white and purple. We do allow pink warm up attire if they meet and match our specifications of required uniforms. Exceptions: shorts, leg warmers, wrap sweaters

Competition students must purchase the studio’s choice of competition wear Warmups to represent our studio at various competitions properly. Therefore anyone wishing to compete should inform the office of this at registration or soon afterwards in order to get the necessary required competition attire in time. Just A Jacket can be purchased by anyone in the studio.

Hair MUST be up and in a bun for ballet, all lyrical and jazz classes. No scrunchies, use pins, nets and elastics. Tap, modern and hip hop classes allow for high pony tails if hair is to shoulders. Shorter hair must be back securely with a hair band. Long hair must be up in a bun the same as ballet, securely in place with all bangs and loose hair around of front of face secured. Students who constantly come unprepared will be asked to sit out. Students whose hair constantly falls out and is sloppy will be asked to sit out.
 
No different colour tank tops allowed other than what is approved by studio management.

No logos, decorations allowed on attire in classes to avoid copyright issues during photography taken for promotional purposes. As we do not schedule days for photography, we ask all students to always come prepared.

No jewellery at all. No friendship bracelets, ankle bracelets. No looped earrings. Studs are allowed as long as they are small. We do not mind body piercing or tattoos as long as piercing are secured safely to avoid injury to self or others, and tattoos are covered up to avoid distractions.

All shoes must be purchased and brought to every class within a month of lessons. Anyone without proper shoes will be asked to sit out. Anyone without proper uniform attire will be asked to sit out after one month of lessons has commenced. We do sell second hand tap and jazz shoes and welcome students to turn in their old shoes to help families who cannot afford same.

We do attempt to sell shoes on your behalf, but only sell for the following amounts: No more than $25.00 for Cuban heel tap shoes, American Tap shoes $40.00
No more than $15.00 for low tap shoes (patent)
No more than $20.00 for in very good shape jazz shoes
No more than $10.00 for used ballet shoes
All shoes must be in excellent condition in order for you to receive the most amount of money for your used shoes. Shoes damaged or worn will be sold for less. Please put an elastic around your shoes, place a piece of tape on the sole and write your name on tape. Hand in to office. All shoes are the property of Finesse Dance Studio and treated as donations if not sold after one year of being provided to the studio to sell.

We sell shoes for our classes through the studio using our convenient order forms. An order form is provided both at the lobby counter, and attached to the Student/Parent handbook. Also, forms can be obtained from the office on Thursdays only.
